Regulatory Ready Short Assignment

Reflection

Prior to this assignment, I knew regulations existed and understood the "why" and importance behind them, but was not familiar with who the regulating bodies were. I also was not familiar with what was required to be completed in order to attain accreditation or compliance. I am very meticulous by nature, so I enjoyed learning about the various regulatory bodies and what these bodies expect out of health care facilities. Funny enough, as soon as I started my clinical rotation I learned that the hospital I am working at is, at any moment, going to be inspected by The Joint Commission (TJC). I immediately recognized the name and was familiar with this accrediting agency (and several others) due to learning about the various regulating entities in this class!

Multigenerational Training

Reflection

It was great to learn about the needs, learning styles, behaviors and attitudes of the various generations! Obviously this is not a "one size fits all" as each individual, regardless of what "generation" they are in, is unique - but this assignment caused me to reflect on an issue I never considered (I've been out of the traditional workforce for quite some time) - HOW do you manage several different generations, who may not understand one another, at once? I was assigned the "Baby Boomers" generation, however, I enjoyed learning about the differences amongst all generations and had a wonderful time reflecting on how I would handle certain situations and conflicts in the workplace amongst the varying generations. Read my assignment to learn more about what I'd do if in charge of several different generations! Happy reading!

Succession Plan

Reflection

I've been out of the traditional workforce for quite some time, and as a result, was not familiar with what a succession plan was nor knew the importance of having such a plan in place. Through the succession plan assignment, I learned not only what a succession plan is, but learned the importance of having one and how to continuously identify potential talent for future leadership and management positions within the workforce.
